Customers need to follow specific steps on the cart page to make use of points obtained from a store. These steps however vary based on, whether you are using the widget or the custom integration.
What are the differences between a widget and a custom integration?
If you encounter issues using points despite a functioning point system, it may be due to customer errors or incorrect steps.
For detailed steps on how to use points, please read below.
To access the point redemption form on the store, you will need an account and need to be signed in.
If you input the amount of points, go to the checkout page, then return to the cart page, it may cause errors so please re-add the product in the cart once again.
1. Embedded widget
If you are utilizing the widget, add the item to the cart first, then enter the amount of points you would like to redeem. (The price will not change until you reach the checkout page.)
2. Custom integration
If you are utilizing the custom integration, the point redemption form will be on the cart page. Enter the amount of points to redeem and proceed to the checkout page.
The subtotal price will adjust, and you can preview the final price after you have used the points.
*The appearance may vary between stores due to the custom integration.
3. [Shopify PLUS exclusive] Checkout extension
Shopify PLUS stores have access to more flexible customization for the checkout page, and can insert the easyPoints point redemption block inside the page. The flow for redeeming points is similar to the custom integration, but please refer to the following article for detailed information.
